RTI activist Ravindra Pandey, has filed a criminal writ petition number 3917/2011 in Bombay High Court (a copy of which is available with SMD) demanding action against Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Vasant Dhoble. This, after he received a response to an RTI query filed on October 7 (a copy of which is available with SMD) which states that when Dhoble was posted as an inspector in the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) in 2008, 12 unregistered dossiers on the Dawood gang had disappeared from official records under his watch. But on June 10 the same year, the police department let him off after giving him a warning.
