After MiD DAY reported on the potholes on Goregaon-Malad SV Road and at Waman Bhoir Road, BMC officials complete revamping the cratered roads
It seems the civic body is leaving no stone unturned and attempting to keep its promise and give commuters pothole-free roads this monsoon. After MiD DAY reported on the city's 12 worst roads, (12 roads that make up one hell of a ride', April 18), the BMC has got down to the task and the potholes on the Goregaon-Malad SV Road has been filled, while out of the two in Dahisar (West), one no longer exists.

In MiD DAY's report, Waman Rao Bhoir Road was mentioned stating that the road had made commuting difficult and a back-breaking exercise. Officials from the BMC have filled in the crater but there is another one.
Explaining the second pothole, Assistant Municipal Commissioner (R North Ward) Satish Warkar said, "There was a water leakage on Waman Bhoir Road a couple of days back. When we patched up the road, we purposely left on pothole as it is for repairs. We are in touch with the Water Works Department and according to my knowledge, the work should be completed within a week."
Small bumps
However, not all roads have been rid of the potholes. The Pramila Nagar Road Dahisar (West), still remains the same. Sudha Rao, a resident of the area, said, "Being a smaller lane, the roads here get neglected."
Meanwhile, residents at Goregaon are not happy with the work done by the BMC to fill up the potholes. "The patch work done is shoddy with only stones and cement. After the first rain, this will wash away," said Harsh Chabra. However, BMC's executive engineer of the P-North Ward Pahaldas Kadam said that the work was temporary and "proper patchwork of the potholes on the road will be done during the last week of the month."
