A 28-year-old US national was allegedly molested at 3 am on Monday inside a room at a guest house behind the ISKCON temple in Juhu.

Deepak Katkade, senior police inspector of Juhu police station, told MiD Day this morning that she had not claimed to be raped.

She has told the police that a stranger forced his way into her room and molested her. A medical test has been conducted and there are no signs of rape. "We have booked a case under Section 354 of IPC (outraging modesty)," said Katkade.

He said they had recorded the statements of three people. "We also want to know the purpose of her visit in Mumbai,'' he added.

Another officer from Juhu police station said, "According to the victim's complaint the stranger pushed her on the bed and molested her. She screamed for help, but by the time some people from the guest house could arrive, he managed to escape.''
