Disgraced: Saji Mohan was nabbed red-handed in Oshiwara last Saturday |
Yesterday, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) nabbed two drug peddlers, who had bought a huge consignment of heroin from Vicky Oberoi, the right-hand of alleged drug-trafficker andu00a0 IPS officer Saji Mohan a few months ago.
A senior officer informed that in the recent months, many students have become addicted to drugs. But Mohan's arrest has prevented many young addicts in Mumbai from taking drugs.
The ATS has identified the two peddlers, but their names have been withheld to avoid interference in the investigations. While one sold drugs in Mahim, the other operated from a hotel in Vile Parle.
The suspects will be prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The ATS found out that Mohan made several deliveries of Heroin or White in Kashmir, New Delhi and Mumbai.
"He was trying to make inroads into the Mumbai market when the police got wind of his activities," said Additional Commissioner of Police Param Bir Singh.
