The BMC has imposed 20 per cent water cut all over the city from tonight.The civic administration will take review after 10 days and decide further plan of action whether to continue or withdraw the cut as the rains have started today.

The municipal commissioner Sitaram Kunte made a written statement before the civic Standing Committee and members too approved the cut.The administration however said that they will try to maintain pressure till fag end and also hilly areas. "We are making a list of those areas which would affect by the water cut like hilly area and will take measures," said
Ramesh Bambale, Hydraulic Engineer of the BMC.
Currently, the BMC supplies 3,750 million litres of water and withe 20 percent water cut the supply time will be reduced from tonight. If there would be 3 hour supply from tonight it would be reduce by half an hour, said a officer from water department.
