Police are having a tough time identifying the trio of robbers who broke into a house at Chunabhatti. They have released 10 different sketches of the accused, based on information at hand. In the wee hours of November 29, around 3 am, three men entered Shetty House, a building belonging to the NS Shetty group, which has interests in the transportation and logistics business.
According to the police, the robbery lasted for an hour. The criminals even tied up the watchman stationed outside the structure at Panchsheel Nagar and covered his face. The Chunabhatti police were called at 5 am on the same day when the victimised watchman informed his superiors. During investigation, authorities learnt that the robbers had been caught on CCTV cameras on the office premises, but they had been wearing monkey caps. The trio left the office with four LCD TVs and four laptops worth around Rs 2.45 lakh.
Deepak Pal, police officer from Chunnabhatti police station, said, "We have got the footage of the accused, but the trio were wearing monkey caps in order to cover their faces. We could only see a glimpse of the eyes of one of the men, when he came near the CCTV camera to smash it." Based on this visual evidence, the police have had sketches of the man prepared. "We have come up with 10 different faces of the criminal," added Pal. Each one of them has different combinations of hairstyles and facial hair.
Revealing how he went about making them without the help of any descriptions, the sketch artist said on condition of anonymity, "While watching the video, I zoomed in and saw the shadow of his nose and ears and drew them on paper. I then drew the mouth based on the typical features of an Indian man." The sketches were circulated to all police stations on Monday.u00a0
