Central Railway to display live cricket updates on LCD screens in two of its trains
Tomorrow, Central Railway commuters may be in for a pleasant shock. They could get live updates of the World Cup match between India and South Africa while commuting.
The newly-installed LCD screens will give you minute-by-minute details of the score for the cricket matches for the duration of the Cup, officials said.

MC Chauhan, divisional railway manager, CR, said, "We are starting this service of live updates of cricket scores and stock market on an experimental basis."
If things go as planned, then the railways will broaden the service to cover other programmes. The screens have been equipped with a data card wirelessly linked up to the internet for the updates.

But you will catch them only if you happen to travel in one of the two trains on CR which currently have the LCD screens.
An agency called Fortune Creative Media Limited is taking care of the live updates.

"The agency has approached us with options for telecasting in the train screens. We liked a couple of their suggestions like live updates for WC matches and the stock market and scenes from comedy films," he added.
Every train with LCD screens is expected to fetch the railways Rs 6.04 lakh from the agency.
Within the next three months, CR will have up to 24 rakes equipped with LCD screens, officials said. The screens are a regular feature in severalu00a0 long distance trains leaving the city.
Movies in locals
Earlier, CR had planned to show movies on the LCD screens installed in the locals. But the proposal was held due to copyright issues.
