A 25-year-old girl, who is believed to have been a bar girl, was found dead in her flat in north Mumbai's Dahisar area on Thursday night. Cops suspect that it's a case of murder
A 25-year-old girl, who is believed to have been a bar girl, was found dead in her flat in north Mumbai's Dahisar area on Thursday night.
Cops suspect that it's a case of murder since the flat was locked from outside and preliminary investigations reveal that the deceased was strangulated with her dupatta.
Dahisar Police said that they got a call from the police control informing them that a body had been found in a closed flat.
A team immediately reached the spot and found that the main gate of the house was locked from outside. The team broke down the door and found the body upon entering the flat. The girl's body was sent to Shatabdi Hospital for postmortem.
The deceased has been identified as Parvin Sheikh (25), who had been living as a tenant in the Girja compound flat in Gurukrupa society since the last 6 months. The police suspect that her roommates -- a woman and a man, who have been absconding since the crime have committed the offence.
During investigations, the police recovered Parvin Sheikh's aadhar card, which was used to identify her. According to the police, her Aadhar Card mentions an Ulhasnagar address. Police team visited the Ulhasnagar address also but it turned out to be fake.
"Body of the deceased was lying on the floor while there was a duppatta was hanging from fan," commented an official.
According to the postmortem report, the cause of the death is strangulation. Initially the police had registered ADR in this case but after the postmortem the police has filled a case under IPC section 302 against unknown persons.
Further investigation in the case is on. Police is also searching male and female duo who are currently untraceable.
