According to the Kandivli police, two 20-year-old boys who were arrested on January 24 for shooting and circulating an obscene MMS clip of a girl, had no intention to sell the clips or make money from it. The cops said that their motive was only to have fun at the girl's expense.

The two boys have been charged under Sections 354 (molestation), 363 (kidnapping), 292 (A) (matter intended for blackmail), 328 (causing hurt), 342 (wrongful confinement), 502 (selling or circulating defamatory matter) of the Indian Penal Code and provisions of the Information Technology Act.

As the boys have been booked under the Information Technology act, the case can be investigated by an assistant commissioner of police, and thus, the boys cannot be released on bail.

S Jaiswal, senior police inspector, Kandivli, said, "The motive of the boys was just to have fun. They never black mailed or used these clips to earn money. They have been charged under stringent sections of IT and other acts, and will not get bail."u0094

The incident
On , the girl went to attend a musical programme organised by her college. It was here that one of the boys offered her a spiked beverage, and later kidnapped her. The boys took her to a lodge where they stripped her and shot the video, which was later circulated among friends.

The matter came to light only when the girl's sister came to know about the clip. She was shocked as the accused were known to her and the family. The girl filed a complaint on January 24, and the boys were arrested.
