The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Mumbai division, has arrested a Regional Manager of Kendriya Bhandar, in Mumbai Antop Hill area for allegedly accepting a Rs 2,550 bribe from a businessman.
According to CBI officials, the accused has been identified as Manoj Gupta.
The CBI officials claimed Gupta allegedly demanded the bribe from a businessman for clearing his pending bills.
The CBI has registered an FIR against Gupta.
The accused had reportedly asked for 2% (Rs 2,550) of the pending bill amount from the businessman to clear it. CBI officials then laid a trap and arrested Gupta red-handed while accepting the bribe.
During subsequent search of his office and residence, the authorities recovered over Rs 18 lakh in cash, sources said.
