Former Chhota Rajan aide Kashinath Muniram Pashi alias Kaka alias Kashi Pashi was arrested by the MIDC police for trying to extort Rs 1 lakh from a cable operator in Andheri (East).

According to the police, Pashi and an accomplice beat up the complainant Nasir Kadar Shaikh's uncle Mobin Rashid Siddique for running a cable business from Hazar Nagar in Sher-e-Punjab in Andheri (East) 'without his permission'.

They also threatened to kill Shaikh's elder uncle Abdul Siddique for trying to intervene when they were beating up Siddique.

Pashi then called up Shaikh, who was on his way to the office, and demanded Rs 1 lakh as protection money. He said he would kill Shaikh and his family if he didn't cough up the money.

Shaikh decided to file a police complaint, however, when he reached his office and saw his uncle injured.
"Pashi, who is a local goon and runs a cable business in Andheri (East) asked Shaikh for the money because he wants to get rid of competition.
