A team of policemen arrived in Mumbai to escort disgraced IPS officer Saji Mohan to Chandigarh to face drug charges there.
Additional Commissioner of Police (crime) Param Bir Singh of Anti-Terrorism Squad although confirmed that Chandigarh police had landed, but said that they did not have valid documents. "It may take a while before proper transit documents are obtained," added Singh.
Singh informed that Saji Mohan will be tried for embezzlement of fund during his stint as Joint Director Narcotic Control Bureau based in Chandigarh.
There are other charges of misappropriation of drugs from the bureau. Saji Mohan was arrested by Mumbai's ATSu00a0 in connection with possessing 12 kilograms of high quality heroin on January 27. He has been charged under the NDPS acts.
