The Congress has just started holding discussions with like-minded parties on electoral adjustment for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The state unit's parliamentary board will recommend a list of candidates to the high command, which would take a final decision.

"Some party members have already launched their personal poll campaign," Maharashtra Congress spokesman Anantrao Gadgil said in a statement.

Gadgil's statement assumes significance in the backdrop of a Samvad Yatra undertaken by sitting Congress MPu00a0 Suresh Kalmadi recently, during which he gave assurances to slum dwellers in the area.

Congress and its ally NCP are currently engaged in parleys for the election to 48 Lok Sabha seats from Maharashtra.

He has made no secret of his bid to retain his seat despite intra-party squabbles on his anticipated nomination.
