The Bombay High Court lashed out at the lawyer of Jaidev Thackeray, son of the late Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray, for demanding adjournment in the case against the party's current chief Uddhav Thackeray over Bal Thackeray's will.
"I can't work according to your whims and fancies. I have blocked my dates as per your request to complete cross-examination of your witnesses and now you want adjournments. I can't give special treatment to you as I am answerable to several litigants," said Justice Gautam Patel to Seema Sarnaik, Jaidev's lawyer.
On the fourth consecutive day of the hearing, media persons and people unrelated to the case were not allowed in the courtroom. Also, Uddhav's lawyer Rohit Kapadia was granted one more day to cross-examine Jaidev, who along with his third wife Anuradha and seven others, will be questioned to support his case.
He has challenged Bal Thackeray's will, which does not give him any share in the property, and said that it was prepared when the then party supremo was unwell. He also accused Uddhav, who got a major part of the property, of influencing their father during his illness.
Jaidev had on Wednesday also claimed that Aishwarya, the son from his former wife Smita, is not his child. Aishwarya bagged the first floor of the Matoshree Bungalow and is the only grandson to have got something in the will.
