Customs seize gold bars, bangles at Mumbai airport

On March 3, the Mumbai Customs made seizure of 6 gold bars of 10 tolas, each totally weighing 696 grams, 4 bangles weighing 85 gram and one necklace weighing 33 gram


On March 3, the Mumbai Customs made seizure of 6 gold bars of 10 tolas, each totally weighing 696 grams, 4 bangles weighing 85 gram and one necklace weighing 33 gram.

Total gold seized weighed 814 grams, valued at Rs. 21,95,821, recovered from three passengers -- Usaid Laeeq Patel, Kuwari Zahur Ahmed Gulmohammed, and Kuwari Taqdis Javed, all holding Indian passports. They arrived from Jeddah by Saudia flight no. SV 744

Two male passengers had concealed 6 gold bars inside pockets of kurtas worn by them, 4 gold bangles and one necklace was worn by a lady passenger.

Two of the passengers accepted that they were carrying gold for Patel, who was travelling with them as their tour operator for Umrah.
