Three people carried out a dacoity on Monday morning at the Air India cargo complex adjacent to the domestic airport, an airport official said.

The trio, armed with revolvers, barged into the high security zone and overpowered the security guard S Bhosle after threatening to shoot him.

When he attempted to stop them from trespassing into the cargo area, the dacoits whipped out a sharp object and injured him in the leg. He was rushed to a nearby hospital.
"As per preliminary information available, they succeeded in looting a consignment but its content or value are not yet known," the official said.
All three criminals managed to escape.
