Not invited to cabinet meetings, junior ministers from Shiv Sena plan to write a letter to Devendra Fadnavis

Junior ministers from the Shiv Sena in the Maharashtra government are upset with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for not being invited to the cabinet meetings. They have, thus, decided to write to him as well as Uddhav Thackeray this week.

Ravindra Waikar, minister of state for housing and higher and technical education, said, "In our party we don't write letters to the party chief, we inform him in person." Other ministers from the Sena feel their hands are tied in spite of handling plum portfolios. "We have been asked not to conduct direct meetings with top bureaucrats," a minister said on condition of anonymity.

A former junior minister of the Maharashtra government said: "In the last government, we used to be part of all meetings. Our opinions were given legitimate importance in the cabinet meetings. I don't understand why these ministers are being kept away from cabinet meetings."

Meanwhile, some senior Sena leaders have also expressed unhappiness over the functioning of the chief minister, and plan to meet him along with all the Sena ministers and sort the issues.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders are also miffed. It has come to light that some top BJP ministers have given cabinet meetings a miss in the recent past, as they do not even have the authority to appoint secretaries of their own choice.
