Diamond Trade Security and Beautification Association a diamond traders outfit, has written a letter to the city traffic police and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) authorities to initiate action against illegal hawkers and stop vehicles from parking in this busy business hub.

"Immediately after the 26/11, police responded to our plea and accordingly we deployed our own security men, but we had to withdraw them later, as there was no cooperation from the police department," Satish Shah, an association member said.

When contacted Sanjay Barve, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) said, "I have not yet seen the letter. However, we will take appropriate action if necessary."
