Advocate Anjali Waghmare regrets cancelling the booking of her CIDCO flat in Kharghar on Monday.

Waghmare cancelled the booking so she could cut costs after she took up the Qasab case. "I turned away a number of clients, so I could concentrate on Qasab's case. This affected my finances and I was forced to cancel the booking," explained Waghmare.

However, with the special court having revoked her appointment as Qasab's lawyer yesterday, Waghmare felt disappointed that she could not fulfill her long-cherished dream of owning a house of her own. "I live with my husband, a policeman, at the Worli police quarters, for which, we pay a rent of Rs 4,500 to the government. He hasn't received his salary for the month," Waghmare added.

"I have accepted the court's decision. I took up the case to help the process of justice," Waghmare added.

Defining MOMENT
During the last court proceedings, in which Qasab participated through video conferencing, he was informed that advocate Anjali Waghmare would defend him.
When special court judge M L Tahilyani asked him yesterday if he remembered the advocate who was to represent him, Qasab calmly replied, "Bhul GAYA".

Khana khazana
The enterprising spirit of the city was clearly evident on the first day of the Qasab trial. An innovative vendor made good money by putting up his vada pav stall near the jail. Over 140 media persons had been cleared to cover the trial. These journalists and u00a0their crew including
TV cameramen, photographers, drivers and technicians of the OB vans satisfied their hunger pangs with the vada pav, bhajiya pav and buttermilk from this stall. The heavy security cordon around the jail may have made life difficult for many businesses in the area, but this vada pavwala will definitely have a great time during the trial.
