Chances of survival of three alleged missing persons in the MHADA building collapse in Zaveri Bazaar is nil, said fire officials present at the site today morning.
Three people were missing and assumed to be still trapped under the debris of the four-storeyu00a0building, after a cylinder exploded in the building yesterday. Two people were charred to death, while six others including two firemen were injured in the incident.
The fire brigadeu00a0have started razingu00a0the building after BMC gave orders of demolition today.
SG Amin, Assistant deputy fire officer present at the site in the morning said, "There are least chances of survival of any person. We are now clearing the debris, which will take at least 2 days."
P Karguppikar, chief fire officer had earlier told MiD DAY this morning, "Three people are feared to be trapped under the debris, but it cannot be confirmed whether they areu00a0 alive."
A part of the building, whichu00a0has also collapsed, is hampering rescue operation, said a fire official.
It took more than six hours for sixteen fire engines and two water jets to control the situation. The presence of LPG cylinders in the commercial units fuelled the fire further.
