After lingering around in the darkness of uncertainty for more than a couple of months, the film industry is finally set to see the sunup.

The long standoff between United Producers-Distributor Forum (UPDF) and multiplex owners over the revenue-sharing issue was finally resolved yesterday.

It's a deal: Big Cinema was the first to sign the elusive agreement between the two parties.

Amit Khanna, representing Reliance Big Cinemas, was the first one to sign the elusive agreement between the two parties at around mid-night.

However, the other five major multiplexes had an issue signing on the same terms as the Khanna.

Thus, at one point it looked like Big Cinema would be he only company signing on the dotted line. But after a lot of discussion, all the parties agreed to the document.
