Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today said the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has shown keen interest in building trans harbour link between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.
"Glad that JICA showed keen interest in building Trans Harbour Link between Mumbai & Navi Mumbai......through technical and financial support through a long term low cost loan in a very short time span," Fadnavis tweeted after meeting with CG of Japan Yoshiaki Ito, JICA Director Kotaro Tanaka and JETRO Director General Takehiko Furukawa.
Trans-harbour link is a proposed 22-km freeway which will connect Mumbai with Navi Mumbai across the Thane creek.
The Chief Minister also directed officials to constitute a task force for empowerment of cooperative banks with the help of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).
NABARD to support Jalyukt Shivar campaign financially, to be implemented in five districts on pilot basis, Fadnavis tweeted after NABARD chairman Harish Kumar Bhandwada and officials met him.
Fadnavis said e-Shakti,a program by NABARD, for digitisation of self help groups to be launched soon all over Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also reviewed monsoon and crop situation, food security and the Jalyukt Shivar campaign via video conferencing with divisional commissioners and district collectors.
He directed authorities to tackle water and fodder scarcity.
