Four motorcycle-borne robbers opened fire at a jewellery unit employee before snatching his bag and fleeing from the scene on SV Road on Thursday, police said here.
"The victim identified as D Arvind was rushed to nearby hospital with bullet injuries," Deputy Police Commissioner Ajit Patil said.
The victim, who is working with a goldsmith, was riding his motorcycle from Dahisar to Borivali when the four accused followed him on two separate bikes and attacked him, the official said.
"The victim told us that there was nothing valuable in the bag that was snatched," police said, adding that an alert has been sounded at all check posts.
