Maharashtra government's proposed transport law will accord topmost priority to passenger services, Transport Minister Divakar Raote said here today
Thane: Maharashtra government's proposed transport law will accord topmost priority to passenger services, Transport Minister Divakar Raote said here today.
"The new transport law will focus on passenger services but at the same time cooperation of rickshaw drivers is needed," the minister said while inaugurating the prepaid autorickshaw service at Kalyan in the district.
Maharashtra government is planning to formulate a separate law for the state on the lines of the Centre's Motor Vehicles Act, which will allow it to take action against those who flout transport rules.
Raote also warned rogue autorickshaw drivers, saying the government will take a stern action against them if they try to fleece passengers. The minister said the pre-paid autorickshaw services will be extended to the state soon.
