Jewellery worth Rs 3.6u00a0 lakh and cash worth Rs 4,000 was found missing.
When asked about the questioning of Pushpa and Chinglya, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Himanshu Roy said, "It's a sensitive case and we can't reveal much now." The bodies of the deceased came to light on Friday at 7 pm, when Sheetal Raikar (31), mother of Vaishnavi, returned from work to home. When no one opened the door for her, Sheetal asked neighbors for help. A neighbour climbed a ladder and saw bloodstains on the wall through a window. They then broke into the house to find the dead bodies, which were sent for postmortem to Sion hospital.
"It was shocking to see the blood all over the place. How can they kill a three year old child?" asked a relative of the victim. The other members of the Raikar family could not be contacted as they were cremating the dead bodies, at the time of going to print.
