On Thursday after a Jet Airways Hong Kong-Mumbai flight (9W 75) arrived, an Indian passenger lodged a case of theft against Yi Hvolchun of China, who was sitting behind him.

Dhanesh Kumar Sadhnani lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against Hvolchun as he allegedly stole $600, Dirham 300 and some other articles from him in the flight.

Around 1 am, after the flight landed, Sadhnani approached the security personnel at Terminal 2 (T2). The Sahar police was immediately informed and took charge of the case.

Investigations revealed that Hvolchun had robbed Sadhnani's money and valuables when the latter had gone to the washroom. This incident took place sometime before the aircraft A330-200 (twinjet) was to land in Mumbai.

It was when Sadhnani returned to his seat that he realised his cash was missing. A crew member on the flight had seen Hvolchun in action.

Speaking to
mid-day, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Madhukar Sankhe of Airport Division said, "A First Information Report (FIR) vide FIR no. 42 was registered against Yi Hvolchun under Section 380 of the IPC.

He is in our custody and will be presented in the Andheri court. The case has a witness and hence Hvolchun was booked for theft."
