The Thane crime branch arrested one more in connection with the Mira Road call-centre scam on Thursday. He has been remanded in police custody till November 8 and will be produced in court today.
Identified as Akhilesh Singh (30), the accused is a resident of Mira Road. He owns a business that deals in vehicles.
After a raid was conducted at the call centre, Singh, a wanted accused, had fled from home along with his family to a relative's place. During investigation, it was revealed that Singh had rented the call centre on his cousin's name.
Nitin Thakre, senior inspector, Thane crime branch, said, "Singh is one of those who invested in the call centre business. He also set up the call centre at Mira Road."
