victims. The police now say Anjana Chauhan, has not only confessed to her abetment to the crime, but also said that she did it for "fun".
The Mira Road police claimed that Anjana was unrepentant. One officer said, "When we asked her why she allowed all this to happen she said it was for fun."
The police revealed that it was Anjana who introduced the tantrik Hasmukhbhai Rathod to the family. They believe Anjana and Rathod were having an extra-marital affair. "When the Chauhans moved to Mira Road, Rathod also came to live with them. He was not a tantrik, but he helped the family monetarily. He never claimed to have spiritual powers. It was the woman who claimed that he did," said a police officer.
The police also said Kishore suspects that Rathod was the biological father of the girls.
The matter came to light on Wednesday when the elder daughter who had been rapedu00a0 for nine years filed a police complaint to save her younger sister from the same trauma.
The accused had stared raping the younger daughter in November 2008.
Revealing more about the sordid saga, a cop said, "Rathore used to have sex with Anjana even in front of her husband. Eventually he shifted his attention to the elder daughter and raped her from 2000 till 2009. Eventually, the father too started raping the girls," said a cop.
The police have seized a cache of pornographic films from the Chauhan's home. "They would make the girls engage in the acts in these films," said the cop.
Rathod is married and has a 21-year-old son who came to the police lock up yesterday to meet his father. According to cops, the son was shocked at the accusations.
The trio was produced in court yesterday and have been remanded to police custody till March 27.
