A fire broke out in Sutar Chawl near Zaveri Bazar and Abdul Rehman Street on Monday morning.
Fire-fighters rushed to the spot to control the blaze and also rescue people. No injuries or casualties were reported.

The fire broke out in two closed shops in a 5 storey building at Sutar Chawl. However, the fire did not spread through the building and was confined to two galas that had packing material and plastic material.

Residents on the fifth floor were rescued safely and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still unknown. By 9:15am fire-fighters successfully controlled the fire and started the cooling process.
