Santacruz police sources said some four masked men rode up on bikes to the office around 5.30 pm, entered the premises and attacked with choppers Nadeem Khatri (35) alias He Man, Babu Kurla and an aide, all of whom took care of a few construction sites of HDIL. The attackers fled the spot right after.
Kurla died on the spot, while Khatri was declared dead at Cooper Hospital. The aide, who has not been identified by the police, is being treated at Nanavati Hospital.

The police said Khatri had landed a contract from HDIL to take care of some of its construction sites and suspect that the attackers were from a rival contractors' group who had failed to bag the deal.
The attackers were caught on the office's CCTV cameras and the police are scouring through their footages to get leads on their identities.
