An alert crew of a Panvel local train rescued a 29-year-old person lying injured by the side of a railway track between Chunabhatti and Kurla stations of the Harbour line on Sunday.
The injured Vinayak Uday Parab is undergoing treatment at Sion Hospital where his condition is reported to be out of danger.
The incident took place at around 1.00 am at night on Sunday. The injured person was lying near track between Chunabhatti and Kurla stations on the HB line.
The Panvel-3 Suburban train Motorman Suryakant Patil and Guard Bablu Kumar were on way to Panvel. After passing Chunabhatti Station, Patil noticed a person lying injured by the side of the railway track near Kms 14/3. He applied brakes and stopped the train. He communicated with Kumar and instructed him to take the injured person on the train.

Kumar, with the help of passengers, took the injured person in train up to Kurla station where Station Master Kurla and Government Railway Police team were ready to take the injured person to Sion Hospital. The alertness of Patil and Kumar saved Parab's life.
Central Railway chief public relations officer Shivaji Sutar said the crew will be awarded suitably for their alertness and prompt help.
