The Amboli police have arrested a 50-year-old for raping a 6-year-old girl inside his shanty. The police caught the accused almost 10 days after the incident. The cops caught the accused outside Andheri railway station when he was trying to flee to his native place in Uttar Pradesh.
According to Amboli police station sources, on November 2, the victim was playing outside her shanty. The accused, Hiralal Tiwari, and the victim reside in the same locality and are known to each other.

Tiwari offered the child a chocolate and enticed her to come inside his shanty where he raped her. After the incident, the girl reached home, bleeding from her private parts. When her mother asked her about the bleeding, she narrated the entire incident.
Her mother took her to a nearby hospital where it was confirmed that the child had been raped. When the girl's mother, along with a few neighbours reached the accused's house, they found that his shanty was locked.
Mobile tracked
Tiwari was on the run after the incident and was hiding in the city. As his mobile number was not switched off, the cops came to know that Tiwari was in the city. When he rang up his friend on Tuesday for money, the police got a tip-off and narrowed the search to Andheri railway station, and caught Tiwari.

On Tuesday evening, one of Tiwari's friends informed us that the accused had contacted him, wanting to meet at Andheri railway station. As per the friend's tip-off, we laid a trap and nabbed Tiwari."
Tiwari was booked under various sections of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). The child is still recuperating in hospital, but she is out of danger.
