Mumbai Crime: Man flashes 26-year-old at Kharghar railway station, held

Navi Mumbai The Government Railway Police (GRP) of Panvel arrested a 35-year-old man for flashing a 26-year-old woman and masturbating at Kharghar on Thursday.

The police have identified the accused as Ratnakar Tayade, who worked at a vada pav stall, according to a report in Times of India.

"The woman told us when she went to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT)-end of platform number 2 to wash her hands, she noticed that a man was staring at her and masturbating," Sajid Shaikh, head constable of Panvel GRP said.

The report said the woman then clicked his photos and complained to the GRP, but by the time they reached the spot, Tayade had left. The accused was arrested later in the evening.

Shaikh said the his photo was shared with four GRP constables deployed on the platform. "Cops found him loitering on platform no. 2 at 6.30 pm and he was detained and brought to the Panvel GRP outpost. He was booked under section 354a (2) of the Indian Penal Code," Shaikh said.

Senior inspector Vrushali Kawanpure of Panvel GRP said Tayade was produced before the court on Friday and sent to judicial custody.
