A one-sided love affair turned bloody as 25-year-old man stabbed a 21-year-old girl at Jogeshwari and then stabbed himself; cops will arrest assailant after he is discharged from hospital
A one-sided love affair turned bloody when a 25-year-old man stabbed a 21-year-old girl four times and later stabbed himself on Monday evening. Both of them were rushed to Cooper Hospital and have been admitted there. The accused will be booked for attempt to murder, once he gets discharged from hospital.
The accused has been identified as Ashish Yadav, who hails from Jaunpur. The incident occurred on Monday evening, when Yadav barged into the victim's house at Yadav Nagar in Jogeshwari. Yadav pounced upon the victim and stabbed her four times on her neck, hand and stomach.
According to the police, the accused then stabbed himself, until passers-by intervened and took both of them to Cooper Hospital. The Amboli police were informed, who registered a case against Yadav for attempt to murder.
According to the police, the accused said during the stabbing, "If she is not mine, no one can get her and if she is not there then even I will not survive." The police will arrest him, once he gets discharged from hospital.
The police have not yet taken any official statement from the victim and the accused, as they are not in a condition to answer. Once they get better, their statements will be recorded by the police. Senior police inspector of Amboli police station Ramesh Khartare confirmed the arrest.
"We have registered a complaint. We have not yet taken any statement from the accused or the victim. The accused will be arrested, the day he gets discharged from hospital," said Khartare.
