Powai Police arrested a private cab aggregator driver on Monday for allegedly molesting a 24-yrs old lady on her trip from Nariman point to Powai. The lady on her complaint told police that she booked a car through a mobile application, during her journey she was feeling unwell, looking at her condition the accused asked her to sit on the front seat so that her chair can be stretched and she can be relaxed.
She also added that the driver was behaving friendly with her. Once she shifted on the front seat, the driver touched her inappropriately on the pretext of stretching the seat. The victim got uneasy and afraid, she texted and informed the incident to her friend in Powai and shared her location. Once she saw her friend, she stopped the car and ran.
The victim then approached Powai police and filed an FIR. Police immediately contacted the driver and asked him to come to police station. Once the driver Suresh Kumar Yadav, 36-yrs arrived, he was arrested under the relevant section of outraging the modesty of a woman. The accused was produced before the court and remanded in police custody. Police are now trying to ascertain details of his background and past criminal records.

A police source told that the victim is a Bandra resident and was on her way to Powai on some personal work. She works in a private bank.
