Mumbai attacks to be theme of Gateway fest

Celebrities Amitabh Bachchan, Javed Akhtar and Zakir Husain would take part in a festival 'Mumbai Saptarang' to be organized by Maharashtra government from January 23 to promote national integration after the 26/11 terror attacks.


Celebrities Amitabh Bachchan, Javed Akhtar and Zakir Husain would take part in a festival 'Mumbai Saptarang' to be organized by Maharashtra government from January 23 to promote national integration after the 26/11 terror attacks.

The festival, which starts at the Gateway of India and other parts of the city, will have terror attacks as its theme, Minister for Cultural Affairs Harshwardhan Patil said.

The government is planning to hold the festival every year, Patil told reporters. About Rs two crore would be spent on the festival and the Centre has promised to give Rs 25 lakh, he said.
