The day mid-day reported about the Tilak Nagar police taking down just a non-cognisable complaint in the sodomy case of a 14-year-old boy from Chembur, the cops registered an FIR and arrested the three accused.
mid-day's report yesterday
According to the Tilak Nagar police, the accused include two adults Deepak Bhalerao (22) and Vishal Ganesh Londe (20) and a minor. The trio were produced in court yesterday and while Bhalerao and Londe were remanded in police custody, the minor has been sent to a remand home.
An officer from Tilak Nagar police station, "On July 11, Londe took the boy to his grandmother's house, which was empty, on the pretext of treating him to good food. He then called the other two friends, who got liquor and food. The trio then sodomised the boy."
While the survivor did not tell anybody about the incident for a few days, he complained of severe pain in his private parts on July 16 and was taken to a hospital. The doctors found out what had happened and the survivor opened up to his mother.
However, despite the mother trying to file an FIR on several occasions, the Tilak Nagar police remained hesitant and filed only an NC against the accused. The FIR under Section 377 (unnatural offences) of the IPC was filed yesterday.
