Cops have finally identified the rickshaw driver who had kidnapped a four-year-old girl from Govandi and abandoned her near Dharavi T-junction after raping her


Cops have finally identified the rickshaw driver who had kidnapped a four-year-old girl from Govandi and abandoned her near Dharavi T-junction after raping her.

The accused has only been identified as Irfan who originally hails from Hyderabad on the other hand a team of Crime Branch officials visited his Mumbai's and native's residence but he is nowhere to be found. Nearly four units of Mumbai Crime Branch along with Shivaji Nagar police and Dharavi police are in the lookout of the accused.

A police officer requesting anonymity said, "After the accused was identified, as he wasn't located in the city a team was even sent to his Hyderabad residence where his brother resides. While in Mumbai he was staying with his mother and has stopped contacting everyone since the time of the incident, due to which we are getting more suspicious."

The cops have identified the accused on the basis of the rickshaw's number, they obtained from their sources, as they alleged that they would only get assurance after investigations. According to the police the alleged accused Irfan is a divorcee, sewed clothes in Hyderabad and it was just six month ago, he came to the city and started driving rickshaws.

The survivor from Govandi was kidnapped, raped and then found in an unconscious state near T-junction in Dharavi the next morning. On Tuesday, Dharavi police registered a case of kidnapping and rape against an unidentified accused and then transferred it to Shivaji Nagar police. In the hunt for leads the cops had even sent out sketches of the accused on the basis of the description given by the victim.
