Vivek Singh was arrested on November 14 this year for selling fake UAE visas to Arun Tiwari and Sonu Sharma in 2014. On December 3, the Sharjah Airport police deported Tiwari and Sonu to Mumbai for travelling on fake visas, which they had acquired from Singh at a cost of R4 lakh. The accused had also offered the two a job on sea with the firm.

When the two confronted Singh in Mumbai, he claimed he denied his actions and gave them fresh documents. The victims took the second set of visas to the Sharjah Embassy in Mumbai. As expected, they were fake. Thus began a chase to retrieve the money they had handed Singh. They lodged a complaint on November 14. Singh was picked up from his Narsi Pada, Kandivali East, resident the same day.

Senior inspector Dilip Yadav said, "We have booked Singh for cheating and forgery. He will be in custody till Tuesday."
