Mumbai police commissioner Hasan Gafoor assured the Bombay High Court on Wednesday that the police had taken all possible steps have been taken to trace the baby stolen from Sion Hospital on January 1.
Gafoor, who was ordered by the court to remain present submitted that a Special Investigation Team has been constituted under DCP Zone IV to locate the missing baby.
The BMC informed the court that an inquiry committee headed by the dean of Nair Hospital has been constituted to fix the responsibility in the case.
The hospital also stated the court that the security has been beefed up and also installed CCTVs to prevent such an incident in the future.

Meanwhile, the division bench of Justice Bilal Nazki and Justice Anoop Mohta has stayed the suspension of the doctor and nurse who were suspended last week based on court directions.
The court has stayed the order till the responsibility on the person responsible for the negligence is finalised.
