The staff wants the management to provide enough security to the employees after witnessing number of thefts in the hospital premises.

"We will be holding a one hour protest outside the hospital demanding security for the employees. The junior staff is also being treated badly by the superintendent in charge for which we need to protest so that in near future no one faces such situation," said Sandeep Gosavi, president of the union, St George Rungnayle Karamchari Sangiti.

Earlier, four thefts had taken place in five days and the belongings of about 40 nurses were stolen from their respective dressing rooms. On February 18, a nursing student's mobile was stolen from her room on the fifth floor. The theft took place even while policemen were investigating a theft in the hostel.

The MRA Marg police is unable to nab the thieves. "We are investigating the matter. We had summoned few, but we are not yet able to nab the thieves," an officer from MRA Marg police station said.

The officer believes that it is not difficult for trespassers to get into the hostel as CST station is close to the hospital. While the dressing room is at a very secluded place.
