Pak father-son duo with links to 26/11 arrested in Italy

Two Pakistani nationals Mohammad Yaqub Janjua, 60, and Aamer Yaqub Janjua, 31 were arrested in Italy on Saturday in connection with the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai, Italian police said Saturday


Two Pakistani nationals Mohammad Yaqub Janjua, 60, and Aamer Yaqub Janjua, 31 were arrested in Italy on Saturday in connection with the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai, Italian police said Saturday. Two more suspects who were arrested "for other illegal activities" may have some connection with two Pakistanis.

The Pakistani father and son duo, who were arrested in Brescia in Northern Italy during an early morning raid, were accused of aiding and abetting international terrorism and illegal financial activities.

The duo allegedly transferred $229 on November 25, 2008, the day before the attacks in Mumbai, used for activating the Internet phone account used by the attackers and to communicate with one another during the attacks.u00a0u00a0u00a0

The US on Saturday assured India that it would reveal names of those involved in the 26/11 attack alongwith with David Headley. According to reliable government sources, the disclosure came when National Security advisor M K Narayanan held talks with CIA chief Leon Panetta in New Delhi on Saturday.
