Parts of city to face 30% water cut

The BMC has declared a 30 per cent water cut in some parts of the city because two major pipelines Tansa West and East burst at Valpada village in Bhiwandi and Vadpe village respectively yesterday.


The BMC has declared a 30 per cent water cut in some parts of the city because two major pipelines Tansa West and East burst at Valpada village in Bhiwandi and Vadpe village respectively yesterday.

Wards A, C, D, G (south and north), K (west and east), H (west and east), P (south and north) R (south, north and central) L, N, T and S will be affected. The water cut will be on till the pipelines are repaired.



BMC's Hydraulic Engineer R Bamble said, "The pipes were old and needed immediate repair. We are not sure how long the repair will take, but the water cut will prevail in the wards till then."

This is the third incident of a major pipeline bursting in the city in 2011.
