Brokers swoop in on BWSL buzz with a steep price hike for sea link-facing apartments
When Sachin Tendulkar looks out of his apartment in the swanky La Mer building, he gets a windfall view.
The sea, of course, and now, the stunning cabled silhouette of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. It's a view just 200 other buildings in Bandra are blessed with.

This view has now made brokers go in for the kill an approximate 50 per cent hike in Sea Link view apartments.

Said Javed Rizvi of Rizvi Builders, whose upcoming 13-storeyed Sofia Heights at Mahim offers an unobstructed view to the bridge, "The Sea Link view will certainly boost sales.
Apartments here go for Rs 18,000 sq ft for a four BHK. I won't say if we have upped our rates, but yes, the view makes for a killing."

Rajesh Garg of Aggarwal Properties, a brokerage firm, claimed that there had been a spurt of enquiries for apartments with a BWSL view in the last few days after the media blitzkrieg on the inauguration.
"A client who wants to sell his three BHK apartment in Bandstand, has upped the price from Rs 4.5 crore to
Rs 7 crore," said Garg.

And there are buyers willing to pay for the view. Said Roshini Vora from Tardeo, "The BWSL is unique and I don't mind spending a little more for that stunning view."
Abhijeet Joshi, another BWSL admirer, echoed, "I think it will be more beautiful than the Queen's necklace."
But Ajay Panchal from Kemps Corner doesn't agree.
"Sure, the view will be great, but when traffic goes up, it will lose its charm. I won't spend money on a flat with the Sea Link view."
As for the Worli end of the Sea Link, real estate prices remain unchanged, as the bridge arches cannot be seen.
