President to inaugurate Shivaji statue today

President Pratibha Patil will unveil the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj today at the Vidhan Bhavan on the occasion of Maharashtra state Golden Jubilee celebrations.

Patil arrived in the city on Sunday to launch the state's golden jubilee celebration of Maharashtra formation at NCPA. which was organised by the state cultural department, the fucnaion was attended by the governor SC Jamir, chief minister Ashok Chavan and Deputy CM Chagan Bhujbal.
