With examinations fast approaching, students are opting for Acupressure

In a bid to cope up with mounting examination pressure, students are now opting for alternative therapies.
City Acupressure expert Narinder Saigal says his Goregaon clinic is filled with students every morning, looking to start their day on a peaceful note.

Acupressure works by using the fingers to press key points on the body to help stimulate the body's self-curative abilities.

"In the last two weeks, I have treated nearly 35 students, all of whom have complained of a lack of concentration, and increased levels of anxiety. For these students, a five minute session followed by meditation works wonders," says Saigal.

"Acupressure helps children reduce nervousness and regain confidence," adds Mayuri Parekh, acupressure expert at Napeansea Road.

Prapti Patel, a third year commerce student of NL College in Malad, whose exams start in March, agrees. "I have been anxious about my final year examinations. My mother who is undergoing Acupressure therapy for her back suggested I try it. It worked really well for me. I feel light after the sessions, and can concentrate better."
