The lone surviving terrorist from the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks on Wednesday reiterated his request for legal counsel from Pakistan before the special prosecution judge M L Tahiliyani at Arthur Road jail.
The court tried to explain to him that since the legal systems in Pakistan and India differed, this would not be a viable option. Qasab, however, reteirated his plea, asking the court to try again.
The court then said that another request for Pakistani legal representation would be made through diplomatic means.
The court has now requested the president of Mumbai Bar Association to be present at the proceedings on Thursday as they will consider a member from the association to represent Qasab.
