Speaking to reporters outside Arthur Road Jail, Ajmal Amir Qasab's newly appointed lawyer Abbas Kazmi said that while he was scared too, he would 'serve his duty in the most professional manner'.
"I strongly condemn what has happened on 26/11 and the person responsible for that act must receive the harshest punishment," said Kazmi.
When heckled by a reporter who said that Kazmi was looking at that very person before him inside the court, he replied, "let the court and the honourable judge decide that. It is not for you or me to say it."
Adding that he had received added security cover, Kazmi said that he was yet to see the chargesheet or the FIR against Qasab.
A graduate of Kirti College, Kazmi began his career in 1993 after a stint in Saudi Arabia. He has been the defence lawyer on several high profile cases including the Gulshan Kumar case and the 1993 bomb blasts trials.
