Court gets signed statement from Raj Thackeray before granting bail
For the first time, on the insistence of a magistrate at the Kalyan court, Raj had to sign a written undertaking stating that he has understood and accepted the conditions imposed on him by the court before granting him bail.
Not regular feature
According to legal experts, the additional undertaking is not a regular feature while granting bail and may have been included by the state government to ensure that Raj does not take advantage of any legal loopholes, especially with the upcoming Assembly elections.
Advocate Akhilesh Chaubey, one of the lawyers representing Raj, said, "We were surprised when we were asked to give an undertaking.
