According to hospital authorities, Thakur was first brought in late on Monday night, but owing to the non-availability of senior doctors, she was sent back and was again brought in yesterday afternoon. Sources in the hospital disclosed that, apart from suffering from abdominal pain, Thakur had complained of acute burning sensation in her private parts.
Following a sonography test, doctors prescribed her medicines. "She does not require hospitalisation," said a doctor from the hospital. Dr T P Lahane, dean of JJ group of Hospitals, which includes Cama & Albless Hospital, confirmed that Thakur was brought in twice and the doctors treated her for gynaecological complaints.
Thakur's advocate Rameshwar Gite, said, "She had no sensation below the waist and was walking with the help of a walker. On Monday, when she tried walking by herself, she fell on her stomach hurting it, for which she was sent to the hospital." Currently Thakur is lodged at the Byculla Jail.
